In a significant move towards the company's "Conscious Hospitality" goals, RENTAL12 has overhauled its supply chain to remove over 5,000 single-use plastic units annually.
The "Refill & Reuse" Standard
Effective immediately, all properties managed by RENTAL12—including the luxury AZULIS collection—have replaced miniature plastic shampoo and soap bottles with high-end, wall-mounted dispensers. These are filled with locally sourced, organic Sardinian toiletries, reducing waste while supporting the local economy.
Furthermore, the traditional "plastic welcome water" has been replaced. Guests will now find glass bottles or integrated water purification systems in select units, aligning with Sardinia's sustainable tourism initiatives to protect the island's coastline from microplastics.
Operational Impact
"Owning our properties allows us to make these decisions instantly," says Floriana Panvini Rosati. "Unlike agencies that have to convince hundreds of different owners to change their amenities, we implemented this standard across 100% of our portfolio in less than 30 days."
This initiative is part of the broader RENTAL12 Sustainability Roadmap, which includes solar energy adoption at the operational HQ and electric vehicle charging support for guests.
